Customers buy it online with iDEAL | Wero, for themselves or as a gift, and receive the card by e-mail with a QR code and a pass for Apple or Google Wallet. Prefer to hand a card over the counter? You create codes in the dashboard, download the QR codes as a print-ready file and have your own printer put them on cards. A printed card is worth nothing until you activate it when you hand it over: that way you check every card before it leaves the shop, and a lost print sheet has no value. You order cards with a fixed amount on them, or blank, so your staff enter at the till what the customer wants to give. When someone pays with the card, your staff scan the QR, redeem the amount and see the remaining balance right away. After every action the till app shows the article code you set yourself, so the sale or redemption is correct in your own till too. In the dashboard you see what is still outstanding, what has been sold and spent, and you export all transactions for your bookkeeping. The module is called Shop voucher, but you do not have to be a shop. A restaurant uses it for a dining voucher, a café for a gift card at the bar, a hair or beauty salon for a credit voucher towards a treatment, a sauna or cinema for a gift card for a visit. You choose the name shown on the card and on the purchase page; your guest never sees the words Shop voucher. The Shop voucher is meant for a single business. How it works ## From card to checkout 1. 1 You switch the module on in the dashboard, set the name and amounts of your gift card and invite your till staff 2. 2 You sell online, or create a batch of cards and have the QR codes printed 3. 3 When handing over a card, your staff scan and activate it, for a blank card with the amount the customer chooses 4. 4 The customer pays with the card: scan, redeem the amount, ring up the article code in your own till 5. 5 In the dashboard you see what is outstanding and export the transactions Who it is for ## Not just for shops Anywhere a single business wants to issue its own gift card and settle it at the till. You choose what the card is called. Pre-loaded cards: €0.50 per card, paid up front with iDEAL | Wero. Blank cards you load at the till yourself: €0.50 per card, collected once a month on the last day of the month. - Creating cards and exporting print-ready QR codes is free. You arrange the printing with your own printer; the amount on the card is settled at your own till. - The yearly amount is a licence; on top of that a flat amount per voucher applies. The credit itself never passes through MijnEvent. All amounts incl. VAT and excluding the transaction fees Mollie charges — those run directly through your own Mollie account, outside MijnEvent. Every fee is a flat amount per unit and can be tailored per organisation. Availability ## Available on request This module is available. No separate tools to stitch together. Frequently asked questions ## Frequently asked questions ## How is this different from a city card or local voucher? The Shop voucher is the gift card of a single shop: it can only be spent with you, and the money sits in your own account. A city card or local voucher can be spent at several businesses and therefore has an issuer who pays out the shops. That is a different module. ## Can I use the Shop voucher for my restaurant or café? Yes. The technology is the same for every business: you sell the voucher online or over the counter and your staff redeem the amount in the till app. A guest can pay the whole bill or part of it with the voucher; whatever is left stays on the card. Many hospitality businesses call it a dining voucher or restaurant voucher. ## Does the card say Shop voucher? No. Shop voucher is only the name of the module in MijnEvent. You set the name your customer or guest sees yourself, for example Gift card, Dining voucher or Credit voucher. That name appears on the purchase page and in the wallet pass. In the e-mail and in the till app it is called a gift card. ## Is the Shop voucher suitable for a hair salon, beauty salon or sauna? Yes. Any business that settles payments itself can issue a credit voucher with it: an amount the customer spends on a treatment, a visit or products. The voucher is a sum of money, not an appointment; booking the treatment itself runs through your own diary. ## What does the Shop voucher cost? €149 per year, plus €0.50 per voucher. For a voucher sold online, the €0.50 is deducted from the payment. Pre-loaded cards are paid up front, €0.50 per card. Blank cards you load at the till yourself are collected once a month: €0.50 per loaded card. ## Where is the gift card money held? With you. A card bought online is paid into your own Mollie account. The amount of a card you sell over the counter is settled at your own till. MijnEvent only keeps track of the balance and never holds the credit. ## Why do I have to activate a card? A printed card is worth nothing until you scan and activate it when you hand it over. That way you check every card at that moment, and nobody can do anything with a card that disappeared from the box. ## What is the difference between a blank and a pre-loaded card? A pre-loaded card carries a fixed amount you choose when ordering, for example €25. A blank card has no amount yet: your staff enter what the customer wants to give when handing it over. Both must be activated when handed over. ## Can a card be topped up later? No. A card is loaded once. The customer can spend the balance in parts; whatever is left stays on the card. ## What is the monthly direct debit for? Only for blank cards. There the €0.50 only falls due when you load the card at the till, so we settle afterwards: on the last day of the month we collect that month's total. You agree to this once in the dashboard. If you do not use blank cards, there is no direct debit. ## What happens when a direct debit fails? You receive an e-mail with a payment link. Until that invoice is paid you cannot load new blank cards. Existing gift cards can still be spent; your customers will not notice. ## How does the sale end up in my own till? In the dashboard you set one article code for selling a gift card and one for redeeming it. After every action the till app shows that code with the amount, so your staff ring it up in your own till. When redeeming they can also enter an article code or receipt number; that then appears in the transaction export. ## Does MijnEvent print the cards? No, you do that with your own printer. You download the QR codes as a PDF sheet with print instructions, as SVG, as separate PNG files or as a code file. Creating and exporting is free. ## How long is a gift card valid? 24 months from activation or purchase by default. You can set a longer period, not a shorter one: two years is the legal minimum for gift vouchers in the Netherlands. ## What if a customer loses their card? You block the card in the dashboard; it can no longer be used to pay and the wallet pass becomes invalid. If the card turns up again, you release it with the balance that was on it.
