# Early bird tickets — let the price change itself

 Price periods

# Early bird tickets, without the busywork

Give your early bird promotion a name, a window and a discount. After that the price switches by itself on the date you picked — on the same ticket type, with the same ticket stock. No second ticket type to create, no leftovers to move.

 [How it works](#how-title) [All features](https://mijnevent.nl/en/features)

- 1Name the period

Super Early Bird, Early Riser, Members Presale — you decide what it says on your event page.
- 2Pick the dates and the discount

A percentage off your regular price, or a fixed price for that window. You see straight away what the visitor will pay.
- 3Done — it runs itself

At midnight the promotion stops and the next price takes over. You never have to look at it again.

  How it works

## From early bird price to regular price, automatically

Price periods sit underneath a ticket type. Outside every period your regular price simply applies.

  1

### Add a price period

Open the ticket type in your dashboard and click "Add price period". Fill in a name — that name is the label your visitor sees on the ticket.

   2

### Set the window and the discount

Choose a start and end date and either a discount percentage or a fixed price. The result appears right below the field, for example € 25.00 → € 18.75.

   3

### Publish and forget

Your event page shows the label with the struck-through regular price and the deadline. When the period ends, the next price applies automatically.

   What it is for

## Reward the early ones, give nothing away late

An early bird discount gives you certainty about attendance and cash flow sooner. These events get the most out of it.

       ### Festivals and parades

Sales start months ahead. A ladder from super early bird to early bird to regular keeps sales moving all season without you managing each phase.

       ### Conferences and congresses

An early bird rate is the norm here. Set the periods once and the registration fee rises by itself as the date approaches.

       ### Members and neighbourhood presales

Give your own crowd a week's head start at a lower price. The period name is yours to choose, so "Members presale" appears exactly like that.

      ### Or more expensive last minute

It works in reverse too: set a fixed price higher than your regular price for the final week. Same control, opposite direction.

   Handled for you

## What you no longer have to do

The four things that go wrong in other systems are simply taken care of here.

       ### Your capacity stays one pool

This is the core of it. Sell 20 of your 1,000 tickets during the promotion and the other 980 remain available at the regular price. Never again work out how many were left and add them to another ticket type.

      ### An order in progress never gets more expensive

The price is locked in the moment the order is created. If the period ends while someone is paying, their amount does not change.

       ### The order records which promotion applied

Even if you rename or delete the period later, that order still says it was a "Super Early Bird". Useful for your bookkeeping and your revenue figures.

       ### Free stays fee-free

Set a period to 100% off and the ticket is free during that window. MijnEvent never charges a platform fee on free tickets.

   Example

## One ticket type, three prices

A € 25.00 festival ticket with two early bird periods on it. This is everything you fill in.

 Super Early Bird € 18.75 Early Bird € 21.25 € 25.00

 Regular price € 25.00

 Super Early Bird — until 15 June 25% → € 18.75

 Early Bird — 16 June to 20 August 15% → € 21.25

 From 21 August € 25.00

   Good to know

## The edges

Three things you probably want to know before you start.

## Periods may not overlap

Otherwise it would be unclear which price applies. Let them follow each other; the system tells you immediately if an overlap slips in.

## Discount codes stack

A discount code is calculated over the price that applies at that moment, so over the promotional price. If you would rather it did not, use a code that only applies to other ticket types.

## Member prices stay member prices

If a ticket type has a separate member price, it is left alone. A price period only works on the regular price — members already have their advantage.
