Payments & payouts

# The money from your ticket sales arrives with you

On many platforms the proceeds disappear into a holding account and you only see them weeks after your event. With MijnEvent you connect your own Mollie account: the visitor pays you directly, and we never sit between you and your money. The only deduction is our fixed fee per ticket — and Mollie settles that automatically with every payment.

[How the money flows](#how-title) [What it costs](https://mijnevent.nl/en/pricing)

- 1Connect your Mollie account

Sign in at Mollie once and grant permission. No API keys to copy across, no technical settings to configure.
- 2The visitor pays

They pick a payment method on Mollie’s checkout screen — carrying your business name on it, not ours.
- 3It lands in your account

The payment arrives in your Mollie account. From there Mollie transfers it to your bank, at whatever rhythm you set there.

  How it works

## From checkout screen to bank account

MijnEvent uses Mollie Connect. That means we create a payment on your account — not on ours. You are, and stay, the recipient.

  1

### You connect your account

In your admin screen you click “Connect Mollie”. You sign in at Mollie, grant permission and come straight back to MijnEvent. All we keep is an encrypted access token that we refresh automatically — we never see your password. No Mollie account yet? You create one for free from that same step.

   2

### The visitor pays

At checkout we send the visitor to Mollie’s payment screen, where they choose from the methods you have enabled on your own profile. We force nothing. Only once Mollie confirms the payment succeeded does MijnEvent create the tickets — if it fails or someone walks away, the places simply free up again.

   3

### The money arrives with you

The proceeds sit in your Mollie account straight away, even if your event is three months out. Our platform fee travels inside that same transaction as an “application fee”: split off automatically, so you never get a separate invoice from us afterwards. From your Mollie account the money moves to your bank on your own payout settings.

   See it happen

## Connecting Mollie in five minutes

The whole connection, from admin screen to confirmation. Watch it once and you know exactly what is coming.

The full OAuth connection, recorded in the real admin screen — including the moment you come back to a green tick. The money is yours## Who gets what, and when

You need to be able to explain to your treasurer where every euro goes. So, precisely: this is the split.

       ### No holding account, no waiting period

The payment goes straight into your Mollie account. We do not hold your revenue until after your event, we cannot reach it, and so we never have to “pay you out” either. If MijnEvent went dark tomorrow, your money would still be sitting there.

       ### Our fee: a fixed amount per ticket

No percentage of your ticket price, so an €80 ticket costs you exactly as much as a €12 one. A discount code does not lower the fee, and free tickets cost nothing at all. The exact amounts per pricing model are on the [pricing page](https://mijnevent.nl/en/pricing).

      ### Service fees you set are yours

If you add service or booking fees on top of the price per ticket type, they sit inside the amount the visitor pays you — we take nothing from them. They appear as a separate line at checkout, so the buyer sees exactly what they are paying for.

      ### Donations stay whole

Add a donation field to your checkout and every donated euro goes to you. We charge no fee on a donation as a matter of principle: someone who adds a tenner for your cause gives it to you, not partly to us.

   Payment methods

## What your visitors can pay with

MijnEvent does not prescribe a payment method. We send the visitor to Mollie’s checkout screen, which shows whatever is enabled on your profile — so you decide the line-up.

       ### iDEAL | Wero

The method virtually every Dutch visitor pays with. The buyer picks their bank, confirms in their banking app and is back on your confirmation page with their ticket within seconds.

       ### Card payments

Useful the moment visitors from outside the Netherlands show up — or anyone who simply has no Dutch bank account. Bancontact covers your Belgian audience. You switch them on in your Mollie account; MijnEvent picks them up by itself.

        ### And whatever else you enable

Anything Mollie activates for your account appears in your checkout without extra work. Want a method added or removed? You arrange that in your Mollie dashboard — nothing changes on the MijnEvent side. Selling at the door too? Card payments on a terminal join the list.

   Refunds

## When you have to give money back

A visitor who cannot make it, a cancelled act, a duplicate order — it happens. You handle it from your admin screen, not through a support ticket with us.

      ### Per ticket, not all or nothing

You tick exactly which tickets of an order should go back. Someone who bought four and wants to hand back two does not have to reverse the whole order and buy again.

       ### Or the entire order in one go

If your event falls through, you select all the tickets on an order and it is a single action. The refund runs through Mollie on the original payment, so the money returns to the account it came from — no need to ask anyone for an IBAN.

       ### The places free up immediately

Refunded tickets are invalidated — they no longer scan at the door — and their places go back into stock. Your visitor automatically receives a confirmation email of the refund.

       ### The waiting list gets to work by itself

If a waiting list was open for that ticket type, the people on it are notified the moment the places free up. A cancellation quietly turns into a new sale, without you lifting a finger.

   Good to know

## The rough edges, told up front

We would rather be honest now than have you find out on the day of your event.

## No Mollie connection means no publishing

You can only take an event live once your Mollie account is connected. That is deliberate: otherwise you would be selling tickets with no account standing by to receive the money. Allow a few days for Mollie’s verification — do not start on the day you want to open sales.

## Mollie charges its own transaction fees

On top of our fee, Mollie charges per successful payment. You see those on your Mollie statement and they run entirely outside MijnEvent — we never touch that money and earn nothing from it. Note that they apply per order, not per ticket.

## The payout rhythm is Mollie’s, not ours

When money moves from your Mollie account to your bank is between you and Mollie — daily, weekly or manually. We are not in that loop and cannot speed it up. On a brand-new account Mollie may hold the first payout until your details are approved.

   Frequently asked questions

## Frequently asked questions

## Where does the money from my ticket sales land?

Straight into your own Mollie account. MijnEvent uses Mollie Connect, which means we create a payment on your account rather than ours. There is no holding account and no payout term after your event: the proceeds of a ticket sold today are with you today.

## Do I really need a Mollie account?

Yes. Without an active Mollie connection you cannot publish an event, because there would be no account to receive the money. Creating a Mollie account is free and can be done from inside MijnEvent; allow a few days for Mollie to verify your details.

## When does the money reach my bank account?

That is down to your payout setting at Mollie — usually daily or weekly. MijnEvent is not in the middle: we can neither delay it nor speed it up. On a new account Mollie sometimes holds the first payout until verification is complete; you can already receive payments by then.

## Which payment methods can I offer?

Everything activated on your Mollie profile. In practice that is almost always iDEAL | Wero, usually alongside card payments and Bancontact for visitors from outside the Netherlands. MijnEvent forces no method: we show Mollie’s checkout screen, so whatever you enable there is what your visitor sees.

## How much does MijnEvent keep per ticket sold?

A fixed amount per paid ticket — never a percentage of the ticket price. It is settled automatically as an application fee on the payment, so you get no separate invoice from us. Free tickets and donations are entirely fee-free, and a discount code does not lower the fee. The exact rates per pricing model are on the pricing page.

## Does a business buyer get an e-invoice?

Yes. Alongside the PDF, every VAT invoice is also available as a UBL file — the format accounting software reads, following the Dutch NLCIUS standard on EN 16931. Your visitor downloads it in their own account, you find it with the order in the dashboard, and it is attached to the invoice mail automatically. Our own platform invoices to you get exactly the same treatment. We do not (yet) send over the Peppol network; the file itself is ready for it.

## How do I refund a visitor?

From your admin screen: open the order, tick the tickets that should go back and confirm. The money returns through Mollie on the original payment, the tickets are invalidated, the places free up and your visitor is notified automatically. MijnEvent charges nothing for the refund itself; the platform fee already settled does not come back.
