Terms of Service
The rules for using MijnEvent.
Last updated: July 3, 2026
Article 1 — Definitions
What do we mean by the terms used in these conditions?
Platform
The online service provided by MijnEvent, available via mijnevent.nl and all associated subdomains (such as organizationname.mijnevent.nl).
Organizer
The party (natural person or legal entity) that offers events and sells tickets to Visitors via the Platform.
Visitor / Buyer
The natural person who purchases tickets for an event offered by an Organizer via the Platform.
Ticket
The digital admission pass with a unique QR code issued via the Platform after a successful purchase.
Platform Fee
The fee charged by MijnEvent to the Organizer for the use of the Platform. The amount depends on the chosen subscription plan.
Mollie
The certified Payment Service Provider that processes payments via the Platform.
Event
An activity organized by the Organizer for which tickets are sold via the Platform.
Service Fee
Optional additional costs per ticket set by the Organizer. These costs are clearly displayed to the Visitor during the purchase process.
Article 2 — Applicability
When do these terms apply and how are changes communicated?
- These general terms and conditions apply to all use of the Platform, regardless of whether you use the Platform as an Organizer, Visitor, or in any other capacity.
- By using the Platform — including creating an account, purchasing tickets, or offering events — you agree to these terms.
- MijnEvent may amend these terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated by email at least 30 days in advance to registered users.
- If you continue to use the Platform after a change, you are deemed to have accepted the amended terms.
- Any deviating terms of the Organizer or Visitor do not apply, unless MijnEvent has agreed to them in writing.
Article 3 — Nature of the service
MijnEvent is a platform that connects Organizers and Visitors — we do not sell tickets ourselves.
- MijnEvent provides an online platform on which Organizers can present events and sell tickets to Visitors.
- MijnEvent is expressly not a party to the agreement formed between an Organizer and a Visitor upon the purchase of a ticket. MijnEvent acts solely as an intermediary and facilitator.
- MijnEvent does not sell tickets itself and does not organize events itself.
- MijnEvent is not responsible for the content, quality, or execution of events offered via the Platform.
- MijnEvent does not guarantee that an event will actually take place, nor that the information provided by an Organizer on the Platform is complete and accurate.
- The documents and output generated by the Platform — including the PDF files produced by MijnEvent by default, such as tickets and invoices — constitute the standard service. Deviations from this standard output are possible only through a bespoke (custom) option, subject to additional terms.
- The sales environment is provided by default with MijnEvent's styling and name. A white-label sales environment, without MijnEvent branding, is possible only through a bespoke (custom) option.
Article 4 — Registration and account
What is involved in creating and maintaining your account?
- Organizers register via the Platform by providing their details and creating an organization account. Organizers receive their own subdomain on MijnEvent.
- Visitors do not need to create an account to purchase tickets. The necessary details are recorded during the purchase for ticket delivery.
- You are responsible for the accuracy and completeness of the information you provide to MijnEvent.
- MijnEvent may refuse, suspend, or terminate an account in cases of abuse, fraud, or violation of these terms.
- The account is personal and may not be transferred to third parties without written permission from MijnEvent.
- The Platform is intended solely for the sale of tickets to legitimate events. MijnEvent does not accept Organizers or events that relate, wholly or in part, to games of chance and lotteries or to adult entertainment.
- The categories referred to in the preceding paragraph are also excluded because they are not accepted by the payment service provider through which payments on the Platform are processed (see Article 6). Registrations for such events will be refused by MijnEvent.
- MijnEvent reserves the right to refuse, suspend, or remove an Organizer or event if, in MijnEvent's judgment, its nature is incompatible with these terms, with the payment service provider's acceptance policy, or with applicable laws and regulations.
Article 5 — Ticket sales
How does purchasing tickets work and who is responsible for what?
- The purchase agreement for a ticket is entered into directly between the Organizer and the Visitor. MijnEvent solely facilitates this transaction via the Platform.
- Ticket prices are determined by the Organizer. MijnEvent has no influence on ticket prices.
- Any service fees per ticket are set by the Organizer and are clearly displayed during the ordering process before the Visitor confirms the purchase.
- After a successful payment, the Visitor receives a digital ticket with a unique QR code by email.
- Tickets are in principle personal. The Visitor is responsible for keeping the ticket and associated QR code secure.
Article 6 — Payments
How are payments processed and where does the money go?
- All payments via the Platform are processed by Mollie, a payment service provider regulated by De Nederlandsche Bank (DNB).
- The ticket purchase amount is transferred directly to the Organizer's Mollie account via Mollie Connect. MijnEvent does not hold the purchase amount at any point.
- MijnEvent only collects the agreed Platform Fee. This is automatically settled via the Mollie Connect system (application fee).
- All prices on the Platform are in euros and include VAT, unless expressly stated otherwise.
- MijnEvent does not store credit card or bank details of Visitors. All payment data is processed exclusively by Mollie.
- Payment processing is provided by Mollie. The events sector is sensitive to cancellations and chargebacks. Mollie therefore reviews new registrations with extra care, assessing the nature of the events and their associated terms before payments can be processed.
- Mollie may refuse an Organizer or individual event, or terminate processing, on the basis of its own acceptance policy. Politically sensitive or controversial events may be refused by Mollie on ethical grounds. This assessment falls outside MijnEvent's sphere of influence.
- If Mollie does not accept an Organizer or event, MijnEvent cannot facilitate the payments concerned. MijnEvent is not liable for the consequences of any refusal, suspension, or termination by Mollie.
Article 7 — Cancellation and refunds
What happens if an event doesn't take place or you want to cancel your ticket?
- The refund policy is determined by the Organizer. MijnEvent has no decision-making authority in this regard, as the purchase agreement was entered into between the Organizer and the Visitor.
- In case of event cancellation, the Organizer is responsible for informing Visitors and refunding ticket payments.
- MijnEvent is not responsible for the refund of ticket payments, as these amounts were transferred directly to the Organizer.
- MijnEvent will provide reasonable cooperation in disputes between Organizers and Visitors, but is not obliged to intervene or mediate.
- The Platform Fee collected by MijnEvent will in principle not be refunded in case of cancellation by the Organizer.
Article 8 — Resale
Under what conditions can you resell a ticket to someone else?
- The Platform offers Visitors the option to resell purchased tickets to other Visitors (peer-to-peer resale).
- Resale is only possible when the Organizer has enabled this for the relevant ticket type.
- The availability of the resale module depends on approval by the payment service provider (Mollie) for the Organizer's account. If Mollie does not permit resale for an organizer account, MijnEvent may deactivate this functionality for the Organizer concerned. The Organizer can derive no rights from this.
- A maximum price set by the Organizer applies to resale. It is not possible to offer a ticket for a price higher than this maximum.
- Upon a successful resale, service fees are charged. The original ticket is invalidated and the buyer receives a new ticket with a new QR code.
- MijnEvent does not guarantee that a resold ticket remains valid after changes by the Organizer (e.g., in case of cancellation or modification of the event).
- The seller receives a refund via Mollie after the successful resale.
Article 9 — Liability
What is MijnEvent liable for and what not?
MijnEvent is not liable for:
- The cancellation, modification, or non-occurrence of events.
- The content, quality, or safety of events.
- Actions or omissions of Organizers, including failure to fulfill their obligations towards Visitors.
- Bankruptcy, suspension of payment, or other default of Organizers.
- Damage resulting from incorrect, incomplete, or misleading information placed on the Platform by Organizers.
- Indirect damage, including consequential damage, lost profits, or missed revenue.
MijnEvent is responsible for:
- The reasonably correct functioning of the Platform.
- The correct facilitation of transactions via the Platform and the Mollie Connect system.
- The security of personal data processed by MijnEvent, in accordance with the GDPR.
Article 10 — Intellectual property
Who owns the platform and the content?
- The Platform — including the software, design, name, logo, and all other materials — is and remains the property of MijnEvent.
- It is not permitted to use MijnEvent's name, logo, or any other materials without prior written permission.
- Organizers retain ownership and intellectual property rights to the content (text, images, etc.) they place on the Platform.
- By placing content on the Platform, the Organizer grants MijnEvent a limited, non-exclusive license to display this content on the Platform and use it for promotional purposes.
Article 11 — Reference and promotion
May we mention your organization as a reference?
- The Organizer agrees that MijnEvent may reference its trade name, logo, and a brief description of the event offered via the Platform in its own communications, including its website, presentations, case studies, and (online) marketing materials.
- This permission constitutes solely a limited, non-exclusive, and revocable license for reference and promotional purposes. The Organizer's brand and logo remain the property of the Organizer at all times; MijnEvent acquires no further rights to them.
- The Organizer may withdraw this reference use at any time by sending a request to info@mijnevent.nl. MijnEvent will then remove the relevant material from future communications within a reasonable period; materials already distributed or printed are excepted.
Article 12 — Privacy and data protection
How do we handle your personal data?
- MijnEvent processes personal data in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and the Dutch GDPR Implementation Act.
- The full privacy policy is available on the Platform and forms an integral part of these terms.
- The Organizer is the data controller for the personal data of Visitors collected via their subdomain. MijnEvent acts as a data processor.
- A data processing agreement is concluded between MijnEvent and the Organizer for the processing of personal data in the context of the service.
Article 13 — Disputes and applicable law
Which law applies and where are disputes settled?
- These terms and all agreements entered into under these terms are exclusively governed by Dutch law.
- Disputes are preferably resolved through mutual consultation. If this proves impossible, disputes will be submitted to the competent court in the city where MijnEvent is registered.
- The European Online Dispute Resolution (ODR) platform is available at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr. MijnEvent is not obliged to participate in a dispute resolution procedure via this platform.
Article 14 — Miscellaneous
Some additional provisions.
- If any provision of these terms proves to be null and void or voidable, this does not affect the validity of the remaining provisions. In place of the void provision, a provision that most closely approximates the intent of the void provision shall apply.
- The failure by MijnEvent to exercise any right does not constitute a waiver of that right.
- MijnEvent may transfer rights and obligations under these terms to a third party, provided that this does not adversely affect the service to the user.
