  Short answer

## How does cashless payment work at a festival?

Cashless payment replaces plastic tokens and paper punch cards with a digital balance per visitor. Visitors top up in advance online or on site with iDEAL | Wero and pay at the bar or food stall by having their QR code or wallet pass scanned — or they pay on the Mollie card terminal MijnEvent already supports. Afterwards, remaining balance is refunded automatically: nobody queues at a token-return stall and nobody is left with unused tokens. You see live revenue per sales point, carry no cash risk and count nothing afterwards. The fee is €0.35 per top-up; spending at the bar and remaining-balance refunds are fee-free — never a percentage of your bar revenue.

# The problem with tokens

Plastic tokens feel familiar, but they cost you revenue, time and goodwill.

  1

### Queues at the token booth

First queue for tokens, then queue for beer. Every minute of waiting is a drink that doesn't get sold.

   2

### Cash risk and counting

Cash on the grounds, counting tokens afterwards and discrepancies nobody can explain. Every year again.

   3

### Unused tokens = resentment

Visitors are left with tokens or queue at the return stall afterwards. Both cost you goodwill — and next year's ticket.

# How cashless works via MijnEvent

From pre-sale to remaining balance, without tokens.

       ### Pre-sale of balance and vouchers

Visitors top up before the festival, together with their ticket. You have the revenue earlier and the queue at the booth disappears.

        ### Pay by QR or wallet pass

Scan at the bar and done — works even with poor coverage in the field. The Mollie card terminal keeps working for those who don't top up.

      ### Remaining balance refunded automatically

After the event, unused balance is automatically returned. No return stall, no complaint emails, no resentment.

       ### Live revenue per sales point

See live what each bar or stall turns over. No cash risk, no counting money afterwards.

# What does it cost?

The fee is €0.35 per top-up, including VAT. From 10,000 top-ups per year the fee drops to €0.28 and from 50,000 to €0.21. Spending at the bar and remaining-balance refunds are always fee-free — so there is never a percentage over your bar revenue. The balance sits in your own organisation's account via Mollie.

# Cashless on your grounds, from pre-sale to settlement

For the visitor it starts at home: when buying a ticket they top up balance or a voucher bundle right away. On the grounds they pay at the bar or food stall by having their QR code or wallet pass scanned — no token booth, no double queue, no wallet. Anyone who prefers not to top up simply pays on the Mollie card terminal MijnEvent already supports; you decide the mix that fits your crowd.

For you as an organiser, cash risk disappears from the grounds. No cash at dozens of sales points, no counting tokens in a site cabin afterwards, no discrepancies nobody can explain. Instead you see live per bar and per stall what is turning over — useful for reallocating staff and restocking while the event is still running. Scanning keeps working with poor coverage in the field; transactions synchronise as soon as there is a connection again.

Afterwards, the thing visitors always missed with tokens happens: the remaining balance automatically returns to the original payment method, with no return stall and nothing to request. The fee structure matches: you pay €0.35 per top-up and nothing else — spending at the bar and refunds are fee-free, and there is never a percentage over your bar revenue.

# For which events?

For festivals and multi-day events that want to get rid of tokens, parades and village fairs where volunteers run the bar, club and company parties with their own drink prices, and food festivals with many changing stalls. If your ticket sales already run on MijnEvent, cashless will soon connect seamlessly: one system, one dashboard, one money flow to your own account.

# Trusted by hundreds of organisers

Festivals, parades and club parties already run their ticket sales on MijnEvent — with the money directly in their own account via Mollie. The cashless module will connect seamlessly: one system for tickets, box office ánd consumptions.

5-star rating> "For our obstacle run, MijnEvent made sure ticket sales weren't the first obstacle!"

## Frequently asked questions about cashless payment

## What does cashless payment via MijnEvent cost?

A flat fee of €0.35 per top-up, including VAT. From 10,000 top-ups per year €0.28, from 50,000 €0.21. Spending at the bar and remaining-balance refunds are always fee-free — never a percentage of your bar revenue.

## When will the cashless module be available?

The module is being built right now and will launch soon; the first festivals can sign up already. Ticket sales, box office and the rest of the platform are available today. Sign up via the contact page and we will personally keep you posted.

## Does it work with poor coverage on the festival grounds?

Yes, it is built for that. Scanning QR codes and wallet passes keeps working when the network in the field falters; transactions are synchronised as soon as there is a connection again.

## How does the visitor get their remaining balance back?

Automatically. After the event, unused balance is returned via a refund to the original payment method. There is no return stall and the visitor doesn't need to request anything — and MijnEvent charges no fee on refunds.

## Do visitors have to top up in advance?

No. Topping up online in advance is the fastest route, but topping up on site works too, and anyone who prefers not to load a balance simply pays on the Mollie card terminal MijnEvent already supports. You decide the mix that fits your event.

## What currency does the balance use?

Euros or your own unit — for instance "tokens" of €3.50, just like your visitors are used to. The presentation is up to you; the bookkeeping underneath always balances in euros.
