Linking inspectors to your event
As an organiser you want the right people at the door to scan tickets. To arrange that, you invite inspectors from your management panel. You do this per event, so an inspector has access to exactly the event they're working at — no more and no less.
So you don't have to create accounts in advance or come up with passwords. You simply specify who may scan for a particular event, and the invitation goes out.
The one-time invitation link
As soon as you invite an inspector, they receive a one-time invitation link. That link is personal and is meant to be used once: with it, the inspector sets up their access.
Send the invitation in good time, so your inspectors can get everything ready well before the event and don't have to fiddle with the settings at the door.
Setting your own PIN
Via the invitation link, the inspector sets their own PIN of 4 to 6 digits. They choose this PIN themselves and keep it private. Setting it up takes just a few taps and only needs to be done once.
A few things to pass on to your inspectors:
- Choose a PIN you can remember easily, but that isn't too obvious.
- Keep your PIN to yourself — it's your personal key to the scanning app.
- The link works once, so finish setting it up in one go.
Logging in again quickly during the event
The PIN is meant for speed. During the event, the inspector logs back in to the scanning app in a flash with that PIN. That's exactly what you want on a check-in device that's used a lot: step away for a moment, the screen locks, and with the PIN you're back scanning in no time.
That way nobody has to go through a long login procedure every time. The PIN makes repeated logins on the same device effortless, even when multiple shifts take over from one another.
Why inspectors don't use a magic link
Visitors and organisers log in to MijnEvent with a magic link: a login link in their email, without a password. For inspectors it deliberately works differently. They don't use a magic link, but the PIN as quick access.
That fits the reality at the door better. You don't want an inspector to have to wait for an email in the middle of a crowd just to log back in. With the PIN they have direct, fast access, exactly when it counts.
In short
- You invite inspectors per event from the management panel.
- The inspector receives a one-time invitation link and uses it to set their own PIN (4–6 digits).
- With that PIN they log back in quickly to the scanning app during the event.
- Inspectors don't use a magic link; the PIN is their quick access.
That way your inspectors are ready in just a few minutes and you keep check-in smooth and secure.
