Short answer

From 5 November 2026 a private event costs € 50 per event, VAT included. A private event is an event with an access code whose tickets are all free. The amount is fixed: ten registrations or two thousand, it stays € 50.

Nothing changes for public events. A free ticket for a public event stays free, on every pricing model.

Why this changes

MijnEvent earns a fixed amount per paid ticket. We charge nothing for a free ticket, and that stays: a neighbourhood party, a benefit or an open day should not get a bill because it happens to take registrations.

Since the access code arrived, organisations also use MijnEvent for something else: registration for a closed gathering. A kick-off for two hundred colleagues, a members' meeting, a client day for invited guests. There is no ticket sale behind it, but there is everything an event needs: registrations, a guest list, QR tickets, emails and scanning at the door.

So far we charged nothing for that use. That does not fit what it is, which is why it gets one fixed amount.

What exactly it covers

Two things both have to be true:

  1. The event has an access code.
  2. All active ticket types are free.

If one of the two is not true, your event is not covered.

Your event What you pay
Public, free tickets Nothing
Public, paid tickets The fee per paid ticket
Access code, paid tickets (with or without free ones) The fee per paid ticket
Access code, free tickets only € 50 per event, from 5 November 2026

What you get for it

The same as with any other event, with no limit on the number of registrations:

  • an event page that only opens with the code and is not in search engines;
  • registration with a QR ticket by email, as a PDF and in the wallet;
  • a guest list, exports and emails to your participants;
  • scanning at the door with the free app.

Do you already have a private event?

Then nothing changes for that event. Every event that has an access code before 5 November 2026 stays free, even if it takes place in December or next year. That happens by itself; you do not have to do anything.

Planning a closed gathering after 5 November, with the event already set up? Put the access code on it before that date.

How you see it in your dashboard

The edit screen of every event shows what applies, right below the access code field. Until 5 November that is the announcement; after that you see the amount there and pay when you publish.

The terms

The change is in article 5 of the organiser agreement. The next time you log in we ask you to read the new version and agree to it. All amounts are on the pricing page.

Do you have a question about your own situation, or do you run many closed gatherings a year? Email info@mijnevent.nl and we will look at it with you.

Frequently asked questions

Frequently asked questions

What exactly is a private event?

An event that has an access code and whose active ticket types are all free. Think of a staff meeting, a members' meeting or a client day by invitation.

I organise a free public event. Do I have to pay anything?

No. Free tickets for public events are and remain fee-free. The € 50 only applies when the event sits behind an access code.

My private event also has paid tickets. What do I pay?

The regular fee per paid ticket, as you do now. The € 50 only applies to events with free tickets only. You never pay both.

My event already has an access code. Will I be charged later?

No. Every event that has an access code before 5 November 2026 stays free. That also holds if you take it offline for a while and publish it again.

When do I pay?

When you publish. If your event is already online and you add an access code afterwards, you pay before saving the code. You pay once per event.

I am on the Organiser plan. Do I pay € 14.95 and € 50?

No. For a private event the € 50 replaces the € 14.95. If you already paid the € 14.95 for that event, you pay the difference.

Sell gift cards on your own website, without sending your visitor away

Until now your gift card lived on your ticket shop. With one line of code the purchase sits on your own site: choose an amount, write a message, pay, and return to the page where your visitor started.

A photo on the membership card: see at the entrance whose card it is

A season ticket or subscription is personal, but a QR code is forwarded in seconds. With a photo on the card in Apple Wallet and Google Wallet, and on the inspector's screen, you see at a glance whether the card belongs to the person showing it.

Selling tickets by payment request or with a ticketing system? An honest sum

Sending round a payment request is the cheapest way to collect money for tickets, and we'll say so. What you give up only shows at the door and in the treasurer's books.
