# Your dashboard, from your own AI assistant

Ask ChatGPT, Claude or your own AI assistant how many tickets sold for Saturday, have a discount code prepared or a draft event created from last year's edition. You add one address in your assistant and sign in to MijnEvent; from then on it works with your real data, within your permissions — and money, publishing and sending stay human work.

  The MijnEvent AI connector is a secured MCP server for your own organisation. MCP (Model Context Protocol) is the open standard that lets AI assistants such as Claude, ChatGPT, Cursor and VS Code talk to other software. You add your organisation's address in your assistant, sign in to MijnEvent and choose what the assistant may do: read only or also prepare drafts, and how long the connection stays valid. There is no key to copy. From then on you simply ask in your own words: "how are sales going for the summer festival?", "which ticket type is nearly sold out?", "find the De Vries family's order and resend the confirmation". The assistant reads your dashboard, statistics, events, orders, check-in, discount codes, team, activity log and invoices. With a write connection it also prepares draft work: a draft event with ticket types, a discount code, a frequently asked question or free guest tickets. Every write starts as a preview, so you see what will happen first. The connection follows the permissions of the team member who connects it, so a colleague who may only manage events cannot do anything else through the assistant either. Everything the assistant writes, and every time it views personal data, is recorded in your activity log, and you revoke a connection in the dashboard with one click. What the assistant can never do: refund, publish an event, send a mailing, export data or erase data. For those actions you get a link to the right page in the dashboard, and you click yourself.

   How it works

## From connection to first question

1. 1 We switch the module on for your organisation; you accept the module terms in the dashboard
2. 2 You add your organisation's address in your assistant, for example in claude.ai under Settings → Connectors
3. 3 Your assistant opens a MijnEvent sign-in screen: you sign in and choose read-only or also drafts, and a validity of 30, 90 or 365 days
4. 4 You ask your first question. The assistant only sees the tools that match your permissions and your connection
5. 5 The activity log shows what the assistant did; under AI connector in the dashboard you revoke a connection with one click

   How you ask

## Just ask, in your own words

No menus, no filters, no exports. These are questions organisers put to their assistant; swap the names and dates for your own events.

## Asking questions

- How many tickets have sold for the summer festival, and how does that compare with last week?
- Which ticket type is nearly sold out?
- What was revenue this month, and which event brought in the most?
- How many visitors have been let in at the autumn market so far?

## Looking things up

- Find the De Vries family's order: has it been paid?
- Which discount codes are still active and how often were they used?
- Who changed something in the dashboard today?

Names and e-mail addresses only come along when you ask for one specific order, and that is recorded in your activity log every time.

## Draft work

- Create a draft event for the autumn market based on last year, one week later.
- Prepare an early-bird ticket type at € 12.50 until 1 November.
- Create a discount code MEMBERS10 for 10% off, 50 uses at most.
- Create 4 free guest tickets for the first-aid volunteers.

Only if you allow drafts while connecting. You always see a preview first; publishing stays with you.

## Four prompts are ready for you

Your assistant knows four fixed MijnEvent prompts. They fetch the right data themselves and present it in a fixed structure. In Claude, Cursor and VS Code you pick them from a menu; in ChatGPT you simply ask: "give me the weekly report".

1. **Weekly report** The past week in one overview: sales, revenue and the events that need attention.
2. **Pre-publication checklist** Checks a draft event before you publish it: dates, ticket types, prices, copy and images.
3. **Event day** Everything for the day itself: tickets sold, check-in progress and the points still open.
4. **Debrief** A look back afterwards: sales per ticket type, turnout and no-shows, and what to change next time.

   Limits

## What the assistant may and may never do

An assistant that reads along is useful. An assistant that refunds money or sends a mailing is a risk. That is why the limit is built into the connector itself, not into a setting.

## The assistant can

- Read your data: events, sales, orders, check-ins, discount codes, team, invoices and activity
- Prepare drafts if you allow it: events, ticket types, discount codes, guest tickets and FAQ items
- Resend an order confirmation to the buyer, if you allow drafts
- Give you a direct link to the right page in the dashboard

## The assistant can never

- Refund money or do anything else with payments
- Publish an event
- Send a mailing
- Export data
- Erase personal data

The connector has no tool for these. Ask for one and you get a link, then finish it yourself in the dashboard.

- Your own permissions apply: the assistant sees and does nothing you may not do in the dashboard.
- Everything the assistant changes or looks up about customers is in the activity log, under the name of the connection.
- Overviews contain no names or e-mail addresses.
- Whatever your assistant retrieves goes to the provider of that assistant. Preferably use a business account.

## What is MCP and why would I want it?

  MCP stands for Model Context Protocol: an open standard that lets an AI assistant talk to other software safely. Without MCP your assistant knows nothing about your ticket sales and you copy figures by hand. With the AI connector it looks them up in your dashboard itself, with your permissions, and can prepare draft work for you.

## Which AI assistants does it work with?

  With claude.ai and the Claude app (via Settings → Connectors), ChatGPT with developer mode, Claude Code, Cursor and VS Code. You add your organisation's address, sign in to MijnEvent and choose what the assistant may do; there is no key to copy. For your own scripts, or an assistant that does not support that sign-in, you create a key in the dashboard and send it in the Authorization header.

## Can the assistant refund money or publish an event?

  No, and that is deliberate. Refunding, publishing, sending mailings, exporting data and erasing data do not exist as tools, not even with a write connection. If you ask for them you get a link to the right page in the dashboard and do it yourself. Everything the assistant does create is a draft you can review and change in the dashboard.

## What does the assistant see of my visitors?

  A list of orders contains amounts, status and quantities, but no names or e-mail addresses. Personal data only comes along when you ask for one specific order, and that is recorded in your activity log every time. Exporting is not possible through the connector. Note: whatever your assistant retrieves is processed by the provider of that assistant. That falls under your own agreement with that provider.

## How do team permissions work?

  A connection belongs to the team member who connects it and can never do more than that person. If someone may only view orders, the assistant only sees the matching tools. Revoke a permission and it applies to the connection immediately. If a team member is limited to certain events, so is the assistant.

## What does it cost?

  Nothing. The AI connector is free: there is no fee per question or per action. You bring the language model yourself: you pay the provider of your assistant for that, not MijnEvent.

## How is this different from the public events MCP?

  Every organiser already has a public, read-only MCP server that lets visitors' AI assistants find your published events and availability. It needs no key and comes with every pricing model. The AI connector is something else: a secured server for your own team, with your dashboard data and draft work.
