Membership system for local history societies
Lectures, excursions and town walks: sign-ups handled, contributions collected and the yearbook mailing list always current.
For local history societies and heritage circles, MijnEvent handles sign-ups for lectures, excursions and town walks — free for members, paid for guests, in the same system — at a flat rate of €0.50 per paid sign-up (or €0.25 on the Organiser plan at €14.95 per activity), without a subscription. Free member activities cost nothing, so a lecture season full of member evenings runs entirely fee-free. You track members and contributions with automatic reminders, which keeps the yearbook mailing list current — no more yearbooks returned over outdated addresses. Friends and donors get their own page, and with the newsletter module you reach members and interested locals without separate mailing lists. After every lecture an automatic feedback question goes out, so you know which subjects resonate. Revenue runs through the society’s own Mollie account and lands directly in the bank account.
This is what it solves
Sign-ups by email and telephone
Members and guests sign up online — with an automatic distinction between free member spots and paid guest spots.
The yearbook mailing list goes stale
The membership records are the mailing list: address changes and cancellations process themselves into the yearbook mailing.
Collecting contributions costs the board whole evenings
Contributions run through iDEAL | Wero with automatic reminders — the board only checks the overview.
Everything you need
- Sign-ups: free for members, paid for guests
- Membership records doubling as a current yearbook mailing list
- Newsletter to members and interested locals
- Automatic feedback question after every lecture
Free tickets are genuinely free
No catch: on free tickets — for members, volunteers, children or guests — MijnEvent never charges a fee. You only pay the €0.50 (or €0.25) on paid tickets. Many platforms charge on free registrations too; with us a free ticket costs nothing, however large your guest list. This applies to public events; a private event with only free tickets behind an access code costs € 50 per event from 5 November 2026.

What does it cost for a history society?
There are no fixed costs and no subscription: you pay €0.50 per paid sign-up (incl. VAT), or €0.25 on the Organiser plan at €14.95 once per activity. Free member activities cost nothing — a season of member lectures runs entirely fee-free.
Can members sign up free while guests pay?
Yes, per lecture or excursion you create a free member spot and a paid guest spot, each with its own capacity. Free spots are always fee-free.
How do we keep the yearbook mailing list current?
The memberships module doubles as the mailing list: new members, address changes and cancellations are immediately correct, and exports for the printer or mailing are always available.
View the Memberships & season passes module →Does it work for town walks with limited group sizes?
Yes, per walk you set a maximum — say fifteen participants per guide — and a waiting list catches the rest. Participants pay at sign-up, so nobody stays away without cancelling.
